Designed to evoke the charm of a traditional Pugliese village, Borgo Egnazia in Savelletri di Fasano is truly a sight to behold.

This summer, we visited Borgo Egnazia to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Staying in nearby Monopoli, we decided to treat ourselves to a special dinner. Dressed to the nines, we arrived early to explore the grounds before our reservation. We were instantly captivated by the beauty of the borgo, leaving with dreams of returning for a proper stay.

On arrival, you are greeted by the iconic tree in the hotel lobby, where a signature scent, softly glowing pillar candles, and a serene, spa-like atmosphere set the tone. Stepping in to the borgo itself, you'll find bicycles dotted around the property and bougainvillea spilling over stone walls. The setting feels wonderfully peaceful, quiet, and private. You could spend hours wandering its paths without seeing another guest. It's easy to understand why the resort is a favorite among celebrities visiting Puglia.

Our dinner reservation was at La Frasca, one of the on-site restaurants. We shared a couple of pasta dishes, including the spaghetti all'assassina, followed by a second course of polpette / meatballs. With its romantic atmosphere, it was the perfect place to savor the flavors of Puglia.

Before leaving, we took a moment to gaze up at the stars, taking in the stillness of the Apulian countryside. It was the sweetest end to the evening, and a reminder that sometimes the simplest moments are the ones that stay with you.

If you're visiting Puglia, Borgo Egnazia is well worth a visit - even if only for dinner.
