We are back home after two beautiful weeks celebrating our honeymoon in the Philippines. It was everything we could have dreamed of and I'm filled with nothing but gratitude. I know that the end of the honeymoon marks the start of our next life chapter, however I don't think we'll be out of this honeymoon phase anytime soon.

I've enjoyed every single moment of this holiday and spending every second together. It'll be hard to return back to reality, but at the same time, this vacation felt like our everyday life. Where even the small moments are just as special as the big ones. Mario is my best friend and favorite person in the world - and I can't wait to see what life has in store for us.

I did keep a diary during these two weeks and I'm also happy to say that I collected a bunch of things for my "junk journal." Which let's call it what it truly is... a scrapbook. I've loved scrapbooking ever since I was a teenager, so it brings me a lot of joy to be creating in this way again. Though as it stands, my other favorite creative outlet is curating this website and I feel this sense of duty to commemorate this experience with a blogpost.

Highlights of our honeymoon:

  • Visiting the "motherland" - the Philippines is the country of my grandparents. Not only was it my first time in the Philippines, but also my very first time in Asia, so it was extremely special for me to experience this with my husband.

  • Our entire stay at Pangulasian Island Resorts - the accommodation, the friendly staff, the food, literally everything was perfect!

  • Waking up each morning with no plans other than being at the pool, drinking piña coladas or San Miguel beers, and being in paradise.

  • UBE everything! Mario was in heaven - my Ube lover.

  • During our kayak tour of the Big Lagoon, we came across a stingray and sea turtle!

  • Seeing two of my friends from grad school in their home country! Literally no other feeling like it to meet your friends around the world :)

  • Exploring the towns of El Nido, Boracay, and Manila - I'm already itching to return and see even more!

Salamat Philippines for the most incredible honeymoon with my biggest love. I'll cherish these memories forever.
