There have been many times already that I have felt so spoiled by fiancé, and him surprising me with this staycation at Puntebianche has truly topped it all. It has been my dream to stay in a trullo ever since seeing these cute cone-shaped homes on my very first trip to the region. So, on our recent trip to Puglia, we drove from Brindisi towards Ceglie Messapica and spent a night just the two of us in the countryside.
We stayed at the most charming B&B resort called Puntebianche. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by FIVE dogs who live on site. The owners of the B&B actually are self-proclaimed animal lovers - there were even two donkeys and a peacock living there! We learned after speaking with Stefano and Luciano that they worked in the Italian fashion industry prior to opening up this B&B. They're on the property every day greeting guests, relaxing by the pool, and tending to the land. It was truly inspiring to see that they have made 'work hard, play harder' possible. La dolce vita indeed!
They have six rooms that they offer year-round, and we had the privilege of staying in their best one (in my opinion), San Rocco. Trullo San Rocco is one of the first two trulli you see when you enter the property. We had the whole bottom area to ourselves so it truly felt like our own private retreat - I absolutely loved it. It was everything I expected it to be and more.
Puntebianche provides for their guests free breakfast, unlimited caffé (a must for Italians), a salt-water pool, and many different areas to find your zen amongst the olive trees. It was so magical to wake up early to watch the sunrise from the roof of our trullo. I'll never forget this stay with my love!
Fair warning for those who have sweet blood like myself, be sure to bring lots of protection from the mosquitos. They got me bad, but it was still the most beautiful stay of my life. We can't wait to go back!
