Autumn Magic in Edinburgh

If there's a city that perfectly complements overcast skies, rain-stained cobblestone, and autumn hues, it's Edinburgh. I adore the -ber months (as I'm a September baby myself) and will always cherish visiting travel destinations during the fall. Scotland is one of those places, and I'm happy that we got to catch the changing leaves.
We spent a long weekend in the Scottish town, relishing this city break and even had the chance to squeeze in a day trip to the Highlands. The short days and extended nights were filled with visits to inviting cafés, local boutiques, quaint pubs, and autumn strolls - a perfect experience for fall enthusiasts like ourselves.
Dressed in our Barbour and nature-ready outfits (along with multiple layers), we thoroughly enjoyed waking up each morning with no agenda other than savoring the city.
Highlights from our Edinburgh trip:
Experiencing the beautiful fall colors and sunsets firsthand
Indulging in comfort foods at cozy pubs and restaurants throughout the city
Walking around Edinburgh Castle grounds and witnessing the firing of the cannon
Wandering through the city center and visiting boutiques in search of Barbour and wool items.
Staying at the gorgeous Hoxton Edinburgh during their grand opening celebrating - we spent one night enjoying complimentary food and drinks with fellow hotel guests. It was pure serendipity!
Watching the Jacobite Steam train cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct
Hand-feeding the Highland Coos their supper
