Situated in Marylebone, the Wallace Collection is an art museum that was originally a private collection. Curated by Sir Richard Wallace and the Marquesses of Hertford in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was a delight to stroll through the collection and the former townhouse that stored it.
I have seen this place on so many London recommendation TikToks, so I was really excited to check it off my list. It was a perfect solo activity and what made it even better was that it's free!
One of the highlights is Jean-Honoré Fragonard's The Swing, but the entire collection of fine and decorative arts is magnificent. You can find everything from paintings, sculptures, arms and armour, and a ton of other artifacts from around the world.
All in all, 10/10 would recommend the beautiful Wallace Collection as a way to spend an afternoon in London.
